New Artwork!
It feels like I've been gone forever! Since I last posted, I've published two books, started a novella, and I'm editing a suspense/horror novel called Groundhog Day. Oh, and I've launched a new book review blog! Check it out if you're a reader; the link above will get you there.
As much fun as all of that has been, I have missed my studio. However, it was good for my creativity to take a break - or at least change course for awhile - and now I feel better than ever. Making time for both pursuits has made me more disciplined, too. A good thing, trust me!
It feels good to be able to do all of the things that I love. Words and color add so much to my life that I can't even begin to express the wonder and joy that fill my heart every day. I'm amazed at how things have changed in the last couple of years; I went from slogging through a regular workday, just like everyone else, to being in charge of my life in new and fascinating ways. Is it scary? You bet. Is it a lot of work? Absolutely. Is it worth it? Yes, yes a million times yes! I've made so many great new friends through my blogs and on Twitter, I've built much needed confidence, and I've learned some important lessons about how I see the world these days. I guess it sounds cliche, but healing is the word I'm looking for here, I think.
Of course, my BigMan has played a huge role in my healing. He has given me such a gift with his encouragement and love. I wish everyone could have someone like him in their lives. Also, a lot of the good in my life has come from you - the readers and art enthusiasts who read my blogs, read my books, and buy my artwork. It thrills me to know that I can share so much with like-minded people. Thank you!
Also, I have new artwork to share. I've been playing around with new stuff, and I think it's something that I'll always do. I've never fit well into categories, and I've stopped trying. Life is too short and too sweet to smash myself into someone else's idea of should. I'd rather follow my heart.
All of these are for sale, so if you like something, feel free to click and buy!
